Chinese Pumpkin Cake

Yet another yummy traditional Chinese sweet treat that requires only three ingredients! The cakes are soft and a little chewy.

Ingredients
 

  • 220 g pumpkin purée
  • 100 g glutinous rice flour
  • 35 g sugar
  • Black sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp oil for frying

Instructions

  • Mix together all ingredients and knead it into soft dough.
  • Divide the dough into 9 pieces and roll into balls (about 40g each). Then use your palm to flatten the dough.
  • Cover with tea towel to prevent them from drying out before proceeding with sticking the sesame seeds on both sides.
  • Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a frying pan. Fry the pumpkin cake until golden brown on both sides and serve warm.
